Conference Season is Coming!!

January 27, 2008

Here is a list of five conferences/events that I will be attending this spring:

  • January 29th, Acts 29 Regional @ The Village Church, Dallas, TX, FREE but must register!
    • Dr. John Hannah from Dallas Theological Seminary will be discussing “Spiritual Formation in the History of the Church”
    • Matt Chandler, Lead Pastor of The Village Church will be presenting “Spiritual Formation in Today’s Church”
    • There will also be three breakouts available: Church Plant Finances, Theology & Family in Children’s Ministry, and Starting Small Groups in the Right Direction
  • February 7-8, Glocalnet Turbo Training, Dallas, TX
    • Turbo Training combines the best of Glocalnet’s Church Planter Training and Glocal Ventures’ Global Engagement training in a two-day intensive
    • Speakers include Bob Roberts Jr, Matt Chandler and others.
  • February 25th-27th, Text and Context Conference, Seattle, WA
    • Speakers include Mark Driscoll, John Piper, CJ Mahaney, Matt Chandler and Jim Gilmore
  • April 1-3, Transforming Culture, Austin, TX
    • Billed as a vision for the church and the arts
  • April 29-30th, Dwell Conference (more info can be found here), New York City
    • World class training for urban church planters
    • Speakers include Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, CJ Mahaney, Ed Stetzer and Darrin Patrick

Some of these I am going to because the Village is co-planting our church. Others because Hill Country is sending me. And the Austin conference for very obvious reasons. I pray that I am teachable and that I am shaped for the better as a result of this time. Let me know if you are at any of these events and please say hello.
