The future of the city, are you part of the discussion?

September 10, 2008

As leaders in our community it is important for us to engage other leaders in our community and to participate in the discussion concerning Austin’s future.  The Leadership Austin Engage Series is a great way to get involved, and this upcoming season, Building Leadership for a Changing World, looks to be especially appropriate for community leaders (that means pastors also).  Check out the following from their website:

“What is our vision for the community?  Who are the people addressing the challenges and what do they see for our future?  How do we build and nurture the leadership necessary to emerge a stronger and more sustainable community?  How do you make an impact right here in Central Texas?”

The next meeting is October 7th and registration is $25 including breakfast and coffee.  The topic is “Shift Happens: The Balance of Power is Changing”.  Speakers are State Senator Kirk Watson and Earl Maxwell, CEO of St. David’s Community Health Foundation, with Jim Walker from the Central Texas Sustainability Indicators Project moderating.  Find more information and register here.

This is the conversation that Austin’s leaders are having, are you going to be part of it?
